Nicky is a disabled, queer Puerto Rican comic artist, flatter, and colorist. She is the creator of the ongoing webcomic, The Unlucky Ones and the Edge of Nowhere, and the illustrator of the award-winning Con Papá/With Papá, authored by Frederick Luis Aldama. Starting with autobio zines that explored mental health, the impermanence of time and memory, existential ennui, and the meaning of home, Nicky continues to explore these themes in her fiction comics. She is currently focused on her graphic novel endeavors in addition to creating new zines. Nicky specializes in expressive colors, the depiction of heartfelt emotions, and animated and expressive characters in her work and is primarily interested in illustrating upper YA and adult graphic novels and comics.
Things she'd love to work/collaborate on: slice-of-life, road stories, existential horror, Puerto Rican and Caribbean stories, queer stories (preferably not didactic), a Love Island type comic (maybe with a horror twist!)
